Entry Requirements for 2017 Annual Juried Exhibition

The Jurors: Nancy Newton, contemporary Toronto artist, www.nancynewton.com and Olex Wlasenko, artist and current curator of the Whitby Station   Gallery, www.olexander.ca
Selection Standards: Our charge to the jurors states "that they will select works of a range of media and subject matter which shows technical excellence, originality in content and composition, and that extra  'intangible' creative spark". First, second and third place awards and up to three Honourable Mentions will be presented. 

Eligibility: All members who paid their NPCC and EAG dues no later than November 30, 2016 are eligible to enter.

Entry Requirements: Submissions can include paintings in any medium; drawings, works of mixed media, handpulled prints, fibre art and sculpture (free standing and two dimensional) photography and digital art. Photographs and artworks created digitally must be original with all source material created by the artist, and be numbered, dated and signed. Only the first such printing will be eligible for the juried exhibition.  A photograph must be labelled as a photograph and an artwork created digitally must be labelled as a digital print  All works must also meet the standards of the Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery. 

Entry Fees: $20.00 (non-refundable) in cash or cheque made payable to The Etobicoke Art Group. Each member may submit either one (1) or two (2) works upon payment of the entry fee.

Application/Entry Form: Please complete the Entry Form and mail it with your Entry Fee to EAG, AJE 56 Neilson Drive, Etobicoke, ON. M9C 1V7 or leave it for an EAG volunteer at the NPCC reception desk. Please make a copy for your own records. 

ENTRY DEADLINE: Monday, January 9, 2017

Labels and Forms: Labels and the Entry Form can be downloaded Some hardcopies will be available in Studio B. Have the labels attached to your artwork. Use tape, not glue, to attach labels to glass.

Delivery: Works are to be brought to the Etobicoke Civic Centre, 399 The West Mall (south-east corner at Burnhamthorpe Rd) on Sunday, January 22, between 9:30 am - 10:30 am. No entries will be accepted after10.30 am.

Pick-Up of Unselected Art Work: Sunday, January 22, 1:15pm - 2:15pm* Please expect to return to the Civic Centre at this date and time.
*Also at this time the two jurors will be glad to critique your unselected work if you wish.

Final Pick Up at close of exhibition: Friday, February 24, 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Artwork which is not picked up at the close of the show will be removed by a member of the EAG exhibition committee who will not be responsible for loss or damage. The artist will be charged a $15.00 fee for transport and storage.

Sales: Anyone wishing to purchase from the exhibition will be directed to contact the artist. Artists' phone numbers will be listed in the catalogue. The Civic Centre Art Committee does not take a commission. When a work is sold, please advise Katriina Campitelli at 416-394-8628 so that a red dot can be placed on the identification card.

OPENING RECEPTION AT THE CIVIC CENTRE: Wednesday, January 25, 7 pm- 9pm
The juried exhibition prize winners will be announced at this time.
